Frequently asked questions.

General Questions:

  • I believe dog training is most effective—and most rewarding—when both you and your dog are enjoying the process. My approach is rooted in positive reinforcement and force-free methods, backed by modern behavioral science and designed to strengthen your relationship with your dog.

As a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT), I follow the most current industry standards for humane, ethical training. This includes using strategies that are least likely to cause stress, fear, or discomfort, and that support long-term behavior change through kind, respectful, and effective techniques.

I do not use or recommend training methods or tools that rely on pain, intimidation, or coercion.

  • I am located in Smithfield, Utah. I offer training services in Cache Valley. I also see clients on a select basis outside of Cache Valley.

  • 2 handlers per dog.

  • If you miss a class and we have space in an upcoming class, we will do our best to accommodate you.
If a class is not available, you will not be able to make up the class.
You will still receive your homework and are welcome to email us any questions you might have on it.

  • Class cancellation must be received at least 24 hours prior to the first day of class to avoid being charged a $10 no show fee. 100% refund will be issued if you cancel 24 hours before the first class.

  • All dogs in class must be comfortable around other dogs and people. Contact me prior to signing up for class. Starting with private session may be a better start then a group class.
